What is a Male Facelift?

With time, the skin loses its vital compounds (collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid), paving the way for wrinkles, lines, folds, sagging skin, and volume loss. A facelift for men in New Jersey can revitalize the appearance, rebuilding more youthful facial structures while smoothing away creases. The surgery can provide enhanced definition in the midface and jawline, trim excess skin in the jowls, and reverse an angry, tired, or sad facial expression. Dr. Parakh carefully considers the male facial anatomy to produce a result that is balanced, natural, and individualized.

What Are the Advantages?

  • Rewinds the clock on facial aging
  • Smooths away folds, wrinkles, and creases
  • Removes sagging skin
  • Tightens and defines the jawline
  • Combats jowls
  • Improves the midface contours
  • Enhances self-confidence

Who is a Good Candidate?

Today’s man is image-conscious and desires to look and feel his best, just like his female counterparts. Some men may have entertained non-surgical anti-aging solutions in the past but have found that they desire the longer-lasting and more dramatic changes made possible by a surgical facelift.

As with any aesthetic surgery, it’s important that patients are at a healthy weight, are of sound mind and body, are free from any uncontrolled medical concerns, and are non-smokers. Additionally, they should have realistic expectations for their results based on a private consultation with Dr. Parakh.

What Will My Procedure Entail?

Dr. Parakh performs facelift surgery under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. Once the patient is made comfortable, small incisions will be made within the hairline and the folds of the ears where scarring will later be well-concealed.

Dr. Parakh then uses a world-class approach to refine and reposition the facial structures, tightening the underlying tissues and muscles and disposing of redundant skin folds. Finally, the incisions are closed with fine sutures, and the patient is placed in the recovery suite.

Recovery and Results

After a facelift, patients will be monitored and then released into the care of a responsible adult who should assist the patient for the first 24-48 hours of their recovery. Dr. Parakh will provide a detailed and personalized aftercare plan that goes over bathing, sleeping, wound care, resuming exercise, and returning to work. Most patients can expect 2 weeks of downtime, during which they should focus on resting and healing. Prescription pain medications will be made available to help manage any discomfort. Patients should sleep with their heads elevated and refrain from strenuous activities for 3-4 weeks, or as directed by the doctor. Results take time to emerge, but as the swelling fades, a more revitalized, attractive appearance becomes evident.
