How to Prepare for Labiaplasty in New Jersey?

Labiaplasty Surgical Details

Dr. Parakh performs the labiaplasty procedure with the patient under general or local anesthesia. The surgery takes 1-2 hours. 

Dr. Parakh will use either the trim technique (in which the excess tissue is removed directly) or the wedge technique (in which she removes a “wedge” from both sides of the labia, then stitches the edges together). The goal is to shorten and/or reshape the vaginal lips.

Recovery: What to Expect After Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty is an outpatient procedure, which means you’ll be able to recover at home. We recommend that you rest in bed for 24 hours following surgery.

Following your labiaplasty in New Jersey, you may experience swelling, discomfort, and spot bleeding. The length of your recovery will depend on how carefully you follow Dr. Parakh’s instructions, but most women return to work and routine activities in about one week. Exercise can usually be resumed at four weeks. If you begin your period during recovery, avoid using tampons. You’ll also need to avoid wearing thong underwear and tight clothing. Avoiding sexual intercourse for one month is advised.
